The Infinikey Growth Method

One method. Four phases. Built to hold.

Every Infinikey Growth engagement runs through the same four-phase methodology: Diagnose, Redesign, Implement, Hold. The work changes with the practice. The structure holds.

The method is shared with Infinikey Consulting, where it was built rebuilding operating models for mid-market businesses. Applied to growth, it means we treat marketing the way an operator treats operations: diagnose before designing, design before spending, implement what was designed, and hold what was implemented so the results compound instead of resetting.

01

Why a method at all

Growth work fails as campaigns. It compounds as a system.

Most mid-market growth work is run as a series of disconnected efforts. A website project here, an agency retainer there, a burst of ads before a quiet quarter. Each one resets when it ends. The method exists to replace that pattern with a system that carries forward. Three commitments make it different.

I

Diagnosis precedes design.

We do not recommend a channel, a rebuild or a budget without first mapping how a prospect actually becomes a customer for your business. The Growth Diagnostic exists so that everything after it is grounded in evidence, not opinion.

II

Implementation is part of the engagement.

We run what we design. Strategy handed over as a document is strategy that quietly dies in a drawer. Every engagement carries its own implementation, shipped by the same senior team that designed it.

III

The Hold phase protects the work.

Growth that is built and then abandoned slowly returns to where it started. Hold is a structured phase with reviews against baseline, not a courtesy check-in. It is the phase that makes the other three worth doing.

02

The four phases

Diagnose. Redesign. Implement. Hold.

Four phases, in sequence, each producing working artefacts your team uses from day one. What each phase contains depends on whether the engagement is Foundation, Demand or Build. What each phase is for never changes.

Phase 01

Diagnose

1–3 weeks · Senior-led

We map how demand actually reaches the business and where it leaks. The Growth System Map shows the full path from first touch to won work. The Growth Readiness Index scores the system across four dimensions. The Priority Register names what is worth fixing, what is not, and what to fix first. The phase ends with a 90-day plan you can act on, with us or without us.

Phase 02

Redesign

Design before spend

We design the growth system before putting money or effort through it. Depending on the practice, that means the proposition and message architecture, the conversion path, the channel portfolio and content rhythm, or the technical architecture behind it all. Nothing is built or bought that was not designed first.

Phase 03

Implement

Shipped, not handed over

The design ships. Websites get built and launched. Channels go live. Content and lifecycle flows start operating. Reporting gets wired to the numbers leadership actually runs the business on. We show working output early rather than disappearing and returning with a finished system.

Phase 04

Hold

Structured, against baseline

Most growth engagements end at launch. Ours do not. Hold is a real phase: monthly reviews with leadership tied to pipeline and revenue, quarterly checks against the Diagnostic baseline, and correction when the system drifts. In Demand engagements Hold becomes continuous. In Foundation and Build it protects what was shipped. Either way, it is structural, not optional.

03

One method, three centres of gravity

The phases stay the same. The weight moves.

Every practice runs all four phases, but the centre of gravity sits in a different place. Foundation is heaviest in Redesign, because the proposition and platform are the work. Demand is heaviest in Implement and Hold, because running the engine is the work. Build is heaviest in Implement, because it ships working software.

The Growth Diagnostic is the entry point to all three. It is how we work out, with evidence, which practice your situation actually calls for.

04

What makes it hold

Three disciplines that keep the method honest.

A methodology is only as good as the discipline behind it. These are the three we hold ourselves to on every engagement, whichever practice it runs through.

Every phase produces something your team uses.

Maps, registers, plans, launched builds, live reporting. The test of each phase is not whether the deck read well. It is whether the artefact is still in use six months later.

The people who diagnose are the people who deliver.

We do not hand strategy to a junior after the proposal is signed, and we do not subcontract the work to whoever is cheapest that month. Senior-led from the first conversation to the last review.

The system answers to pipeline, not vanity metrics.

Every monthly review ties the growth system back to pipeline and revenue. Impressions and traffic are inputs. Won work is the output the method is judged on.
